

Teigha Beth Bailey
Teigha Beth Bailey is a Philadelphia based Dance Artist and Yoga Instructor. Teigha grew up in Kinston, North Carolina connecting passionately to movement. She studied at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA where she received a BFA in Dance in 2018. While in college, Teigha performed works by Bobbi Jene Smith, Helen Simoneau, Jesse Zaritt, Jennifer Nugent + Paul Matteson, Tommie-Waheed Evans, Curt Haworth, and Mark Caserta. Teigha studied and trained at The American Dance Festival where she was selected to participate in The Footprints Program. She performed in two ADF-commissioned world premieres choreographed by Saar Harari & Lee Sher in 2016, and Gregory Dolbashian in 2017.
In 2016, Teigha joined OM Grown Dancers under the artistic direction of Courtney Owen Muir. Teigha has traveled and performed with the company at The Richmond Dance Festival, Bell House Exchange Festival, Furnace Fringe Festival, and as a part of Andanza’s 20th Anniversary Production in Puerto Rico. Teigha recently performed in OM Grown Dancer’s newest evening length work, A(VOI D)ANCE in May 2022, in Durham, NC.
In 2018, Teigha joined The Dash Ensemble under the artistic direction of Gregory Dolbashian. She performed with the company in Grown Up Fairy Tales, which premiered in the New Dance Festival at James Madison University, and was shown as a part of the APAP showcase in NYC. She also danced in the project Human Nature performed in conjunction with Leonardo Drew’s sculpture City in the Grass in Madison Square Park. Most recently, Teigha danced in The Dash Ensemble’s newest creation The Power of Collision in Dallas, Texas.
Alongside her involvement with both companies, Teigha has worked in many projects as a freelance dancer and choreographer. She had the honor of participating as a dancer in the movie, AVIVA, directed by Boaz Yakin and choreographed by Bobbi Jene Smith. In 2019, she performed in Thryn Saxon’s work, There is an Aching Inside, as a part of Mare Nostrum Elements Emerging Choreographer Series in NYC. In September 2021, Teigha participated as a dancer in The Delicate Power Research Lab for Helen Simoneau Danse (Guggenheim Fellow) in North Carolina. Teigha also recently choreographed and performed in a concept film titled The Vision, in collaboration with violinist Timothy Schwarz and filmmaker Anabelle Scarborough. Teigha is thrilled to join Britt Fishel & Artists on upcoming projects, and hopes to continue to share her passion for dance and art.
